Berkshire Florida Tile

So this blog may not be baby related... but of all of the projects going on in  our home this month, this is one of my favorites!
We used to have hardwood floor  in our entry way but it wasn't our color choice, and if Tia has an accident, that is usually where it happens.. .(but hey, it's by the door at least- right?) It also wasn't very sanitary with not being able to clean the crevices. So we stumbled  upon Florida tiles' brand called Berkshire.  Florida Tile: Berkshire  I hadn't ever seen this before and  honestly I couldn't decide on any other "typical" porcelain tile after seeing it.
Ok, so I know we went from real hardwood to a porcelain tile wood look -a -like surface but just look at the difference!
We went with "olive" as a personal preferece, but there is a total of  5  different colors to choose from if olive isn't your color of choice. We chose a "mocha"  grout from a nearby Lowes which blends nicely with our tile and gives it the look that we were going for!

This is before...

 Process..

Almost Done... dont mind the carpet samples and lack of carpet on the steps..  We are getting new carpet this week!
Finished! The grout looks very light in this picture due to the flash...i'll have to take a better picture. You can barely see the grout in the picture above..and  that is more like it!

Nursery Update

So not a whole lot has changed in the nursery so far since we have been busy with the holidays and will soon be starting yet another home project soon!
Tyler worked on priming the walls to prep for paint! So everything  is white now.
In the mean time, Tyler put together the crib (in its temporary spot).  The Graco crib and changing table were our big black friday deal :)  !   I wasn't originally wanting  a changing table but with it being the better deal, we got it.  With a nosey boxer in the house, i think it'll be best  ;)

The mess in the background is our process of waiting on carpet to be in and moving the office downstairs and basement furniture...well..  somewhere else!

 Hard at work.....

We have our third appointment next Wednesday where we will schedule our ultrasound to find out what we're having!

12 weeks!

Tomorrow is our second baby appointment where we will finally get to hear our babies heartbeat. We are so excited. Next month we will find out the sex which is even more exciting, I can't wait to start planning everything!
I think my morning sickness/nausea has finally lessened and my energy level is getting better and better every day, thank God! I'm greatful that I haven't puked yet... even though whenever I mention that to someone I feel nauseous the next day...always jinxing myself.
I'm also finally back to cooking my "normal" meals- and I'm sure Tyler is very pleased :)
Tyler has been working hard in the nursery (which used to be our office), in between working on his motorcycle of course, while Tia intensly watches from the hallway wanting to be in every picture I take which I can't help but give in. We are also in the process of painting the baseboards and doors in the house to prepare it for our new carpet that I am anxiously awaiting. Our house seems like it is always an on going project... but with a husband like mine that's what I should expect, and I can't complain!

Here is the process of our nursery thus far:
We bought wainscoting from a local hardware store along with crown molding, chair rail, and a larger base board to complete the look. All are white and will be painted white once finished to pollish the look off.
Soon we will be priming the walls to get them ready for the paint!
Out with the old office stuff...didn't get a complete "before pic.."
Old printers and cable wire Once with carpet...
Hard at work... as always. Walls are prepped..baseboards are on...ripping up carpet, moving cable wire to the new office location, and starting on the wainscoting.

Ready for primer...and patiently awaiting to figure out pink or blue...come on January!!!

Tia likes to sneak in the babies room when I'm peaking in....PS:  Notice the fuel tank in the picture...he can't get away from his motorcycle sometimes I swear ;)

Tia again..."Can I please come in....I just want to chew on the wood scraps!"

Baby's closet in the works... Still needs white paint and a clothing rail and more!
